Frequently Asked questions

I understand there may be questions or concerns that you might have before contacting me or booking a consultation. I will try and cover the more frequently asked questions but if there is anything that isn't covered please feel free to contact me.

Do I need to be physically fit to have a personal trainer?

No not at all, most clients who book in with me are either new to fitness or are returning after inactivity/injury. During your first session with me I will conduct a health and fitness assessment that will help me to understand what level of exercise is right for you. You will be surprised at just how quickly your fitness will improve.

I’m a little nervous about starting, is that ok?

Of course, its only natural to have some nerves, but I can assure you that once you have a consultation with me, you will not only feel comfortable but most likely excited to start straight away. I am extremely passionate about helping clients achieve the best versions of themselves, once starting you will realise the nervousness was unwarranted and you will question why you didn’t start sooner.

How much does Personal Training cost?

Sessions start at £30ph but can be less if you book multiple sessions, you can also book in with a partner and split the cost with prices starting at £25per person per hour, you can go even further and book in as a group to bring the cost down even more! You can find the full list of packages on my Prices page.

Can I train with a friend or partner?

Of course, training with someone can provide an added boost of motivation and fun! Its also a great way of splitting the cost.

How is my progress measured?

We can conduct a full segmental body composition analysis which will measure metrics such as body weight, body fat percentage, visceral fat, basal metabolic rate (BMR), BMI, muscle mass, bone mass, water content and measurements (chest, waist, arms and legs) These measurements can be repeated at different stages to measure progress throughout your fitness journey.

How soon will I see results?

All clients start to feel both physically and mentally fitter into their second week of personal training. My clients will usually begin to burn fat and tone their body in a few weeks time. The exact rate of weight loss will vary from client to client, this will be dependant on starting weight, gender, metabolism and dedication to the plan and nutrition. For best results I would advise clients sticking to their plan for at least 10 weeks.

Can you give me a training plan for workouts at home or outside of PT?

Yes of course, you may decide that you just require my services as a coach, you can take advantage of my coaching plan which will include a customised training plan created specific to your goals! This is great value for money and will include the exercises that you should do, how many reps/sets, advice around good form and even videos if need be.

What equipment or clothing do I need to commence sessions?

In all sessions you will need appropriate footwear and sensible workout clothing, I would recommend that you bring a water bottle to keep yourself hydrated and also to bring a towel to your workout. I can advise you on other equipment you may want during our sessions ie gloves, breathable fabrics etc.

What sort of exercises will I be doing?

Each clients personal training program is unique to them, the plan will be made during your initial consultation and will be based upon your goals and likes/dislikes. I am highly qualified in various fitness disciplines so we can incorporate, HIIT workouts, kettlebells, dumbbells, barbells, battle ropes, power bags, aerobic steppers, cardio machines, resistance machines and body weight exercises.

Do you give advice around nutrition?

Yes, most definitely. I will always endeavour to give my clients advice around nutrition to support their goals… this can be building muscle, losing fat, having more energy, recovering from sessions. If you want more specific advice around meal plans and how much protein, fat, carbs then you can move onto my coaching plan, which is a lot more cost effective and will include a training and nutrition plan where I will tell you what to include in your diet and how much.

The coaching plan sounds interesting, what else does it include?

It will include a unique training plan, a nutrition plan, advice around supplements, weekly video call check ins, me studying your weekly progress pictures and alterations being created to maximise progress, motivational coaching and 24 hour virtual support.

What if I have other questions that are not in this list?
